Born in 1930 in Göteborg, Sweden, Elisabeth left home in her mid-20s to study languages in Germany and France. She met her future husband, James (Jim) Williams, in Heidelberg, Germany. They married in 1957 and spent their first years together in Jersey City, Rutherford and Montclair, NJ.

Together with their three young children, the couple lived in Portugal in 1966 and 1967, which Elisabeth recalled as some of her happiest years. They settled in Croton in 1969.

A horse lover from childhood, Elisabeth owned and rode horses and bred English collies and Persian cats. She celebrated Swedish Midsummer traditions and shared Swedish cuisine and folk tales with her family. Widowed 18 months ago, she was fit and healthy until the very end.

Elisabeth is survived by her children Michael, Jennifer and Clayton and grandchildren Dhanya, Anitra, Kurt, Erik, Kevin and Annika.
